Babies and toddlers love activities with balls. Passing, rolling and bouncing balls are important skills for babies and young children to practice! They provide opportunities to work on muscle development (eyes tracking the ball, etc.) and coordination (like crossing the midline). They also provide steady beat practice, which I think is a great benefit! It doesn’t really matter if you use a soccer ball, bouncy ball or basketball, but I think foam balls or medium sized bouncy balls work best for toddlers.
